ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Scope / Key Responsibilities
- Review and process payments in accordance with approved financial policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.
- Verify invoices, payment requests, supporting documents, and approvals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier, employee, and other operational payments.
- Review accounting entries and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the financial system and appropriate accounts.
- Perform reconciliations and follow up on outstanding, or pending payment transactions.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Contracts, and other internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate payment records and supporting documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable and payment processing.
- Monitor payment processing performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Prepare payment-related reports, reconciliations, analyses, and management updates as required.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and respond to payment-related queries and observations.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members on payment processing activities and procedures.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualification / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline;
- Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, accounts payable, payment processing, finance operations, or a related finance function.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, payment processes, reconciliations, financial controls, and reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP/financial systems and automated payment processes.
