ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Scope / Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on global defence and security technology trends, emerging technologies, and recent developments.
- Support the development and periodic review of R&D strategies, priorities, focus areas, and technology roadmaps aligned with defence and security objectives.
- Support the identification and assessment of technology capability gaps and priority R&D areas.
- Assist in conducting technology capability assessments, gap analyses, feasibility studies, simulations, and other technical evaluations.
- Support the development of R&D programs and project roadmaps addressing identified technology and capability requirements.
- Conduct research and analysis to support the preparation of technology insights, studies, reports, and thought-leadership materials.
- Support feasibility, cost, and budget analysis for proposed R&D programs and projects.
- Research and assess potential technology transfer, localization, and knowledge-transfer opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, research institutions, universities, industry partners, and other relevant stakeholders to support R&D planning and program development.
- Monitor R&D initiatives, technology developments, and project information and maintain relevant data, reports, and documentation.
- Support initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration and alignment across the UAE defence and security R&D ecosystem.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualification / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 4–8 years of relevant experience in R&D, technology research, engineering, innovation, technology strategy, or a related field.
- Good understanding of emerging technologies, technology assessment, research methodologies, and R&D program/project fundamentals.
- Exposure to defence and security, aerospace, advanced technology, AI, autonomous systems, or other strategic technology sectors is preferred.
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
