ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Scope / Key Responsibilities
- Review high-value and complex contracts, procurement orders, and related agreements involving the stakeholders, security entities, and other relevant government stakeholders.
- Review and advise on contractual terms and conditions, obligations, liabilities, risks, and commercial provisions.
- Provide legal support in the negotiation, drafting, review, and finalization of procurement and acquisition-related contracts.
- Ensure contracts and procurement orders comply with applicable UAE laws, regulations, government requirements, and approved legal frameworks.
- Assess legal and contractual risks associated with defence and security procurement and acquisition activities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with the security entities, Corporate Legal, and relevant internal stakeholders on complex contractual and legal matters.
- Review applicable international requirements relating to defence procurement, including export controls, permits, and international restrictions.
- Develop and maintain standard contract templates, clauses, and approved terms and conditions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Review contractual amendments, variations, extensions, and other changes from a legal and contractual perspective.
- Support the assessment and resolution of contractual disputes, claims, breaches, penalties, and other contract-related matters.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualification / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law and preferred Master’s Degree (LLM) in Commercial Law, Contract Law, or a related legal discipline. Admission to practice law or membership in a recognized legal or professional association is preferred.
- Professional certification or specialized training in Contract Management, Commercial Contracts, Procurement Law, or Government Procurement is preferred.
- Certification or training in international trade compliance, export controls, or ITAR is an advantage, particularly for defence and security procurement.
